Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Roberts is from the fourth generation of Roberts family that been a resident of Atlanta. The story began with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was farmer. In the early years of his life the father of her mother became obsessed by the acting. As a student in Emory University he appeared in diverse productions, both in and outside of campus. In 1953, when he joined the Air Force in Biloxi, he was seen with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. Both married in 2005 and welcomed their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they quit the Air Force and Walter started his education at Tulane. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. The family moved in 1960 and relocated in Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou financed their own production of a Sunday morning show for children, Bum Bum and His Buddies. They also established a six-year Actors and Writers Workshop later in the year. They had two more children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also known by the name Lisa) and Julia Billingsley (1967) (also known by the same name Julie).
