Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. She's English as well as her father was Nigerian. Her family was raised on the south London council estate, as a teenager, she 14, attended The Brit School. She studied acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While at school she appeared in a variety of stage productions including the King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began acting with Storm Damage. Since then she has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. She has performed on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, by David Watson.
Madekwe first aired in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show was telecast at The CW for only two episodes, before it was cancelled. She was cast in February 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. The departure of Madekwe from the show was confirmed in May 2013. After two years as the main character she appeared as a guest in the opening episode of season three. Between 2014 and 2016, Madekwe was a star in the role of Tituba the television series Salem. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. In addition to Secret Diary of a Call Girl they have also worked together on Salem and he had an appearance with her on that show.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for the Gemini Award, is a member of an extensive Hamilton family. Her family included both parents Roy and Patty as well as four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's sports brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months as well as hockey in winter. Ashley was never a walker, she was a dancer, and at age 2 1/2 years old she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. This was the beginning of Ashley's passion for dance. Ashley was a dancer who competed throughout the various divisions up until her graduation from high school. She was a competitor in ballet, jazz, tap, pointe and the acrobatics. She was the top soloist in important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which were all given to Ashley.
